Can I vote in the referendum?

On Thursday, June 3rd, Farmington voters will decide whether to build a new Farmington High School facility.

You can vote in the referendum if you are:

A Farmington resident

AND

Registered to vote in Farmington

OR A resident of another town who owns at least $1,000 of taxable property in Farmington

To register to vote, you must be:

  • a US Citizen,
  • a resident of Farmington, and
  • at least 18 years old.*
  • Taxable property includes land, buildings, and registered motor and unpowered vehicles.
  • According to the Town Registrar of Voters office: “property owner must be 18 or older, must be a US citizen, and whose name appears as an owner on the last Annual Grand List (presently Oct 1, 2020). Property transfers after that date would not be recognized for voting purposes.”
  • To cast a ballot:
“property owners would appear at one of our 4 polling places, complete a property and personal identification declaration form and then be given a regular ballot following confirmation.”

To learn if you are eligible to vote, or to register or check if you are already registered to vote, see the Town’s Registrar of Voters webpage.

You must be registered no later than Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at noon to vote in the Thursday, June 3, 2021 referendum.
