FARMINGTON, CT — Once again, Farmington residents have the opportunity to vote for a much needed high school. Over our long history, providing a quality education for our children has been both a hallmark of our community and an attraction for families to move to Farmington.
That was indeed a key to our family, including four school aged sons, making Farmington/Unionville our home 46 years ago.
The existing high school has served us well, but by any measure is now outdated, worn, and fails to provide for the needs of our students, in spite of timely expenditures over the years. Continuing expenditures in the old building is now “throwing good money after bad.”
Concerns with the original proposal from four years ago have been addressed. It will only become more expensive and a detriment to a quality education not to move forward now.
For these reasons, I encourage all to vote YES on Thursday, June 3.
